Day 01: Depart USA
Board your flight for Kenya & depart from USA.
Day 02: Nairobi
Arrive at the Airport in Nairobi and meet our representative. Transfer to the Norfolk Hotel, a most luxurious & historical hotel set in the city with glorious courtyards reminiscing the era of the early settlers. The perfect start to what will truly be an Out Of Africa experience! Overnight at the Norfolk.
Day 03: Aberdare National Park
After breakfast, depart by air for Nanyuki & transfer to the elegant Aberdare Country Club, set in lush gardens roaming with Peacock. Arrive for a mouth-watering buffet lunch. In the afternoon, board the Club’s vehicles to transfer to the Aberdare National Park for a night full of game viewing. Check in at the Ark, which is a Tree lodge uniquely designed to resemble Noah’s Ark with observation rooms overlooking a waterhole frequented by the Big Game.
Day 04: Sweetwater’s Game Reserve
An early breakfast at The Ark follows a transfer to Sweetwaters Game Reserve, host to all of the Big Five and many more species of Kenya’s wildlife & birdlife. Afternoon game drives through the reserve bring you to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee sanctuary for a boat ride & an introduction to the young orphaned chimps, followed by a visit to see Kenya’s popular tame rhino Morani. After dinner, retire to your luxurious en suite tent if you are exhausted by the previous night’s game viewing
or if you’re still active you could simply sit with a drink in your Tent’s private balcony overlooking a waterhole & saltlick visited by Giraffe, Rhino & several antelope.
Day 05: Sweetwater’s Game Reserve
Early morning game drive to watch the entire reserve come to life. Day at leisure for you to relax by the pool. In the evening, a night game drive brings you the chance to see the more nocturnal species of Africa’s wildlife, such as Leopard.
Day 06: Nanyuki, Mount Kenya Region
A short drive out of Sweetwater’s brings you to the legendary Mount Kenya Safari Club set against the backdrop of the magnificent Mt. Kenya. The Club, frequented by Royals & VIPs from around the world, features perfect lawns with pretty swans in little ponds and a large golf course. Recently added to the long list of recreational activities is a Human Maze.
Day 07: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Fly out to the Masai Mara - one of the world’s best wildlife reserves, stretching out to the South and joining with Tanzania’s Serengeti ecosystem. Check in at the luxurious Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp set in a monkey-rich forest overlooking the Oloololo escarpment. An afternoon game drive in Open Landrover safari vehicles gives you a taste
of pure African wilderness, as you search the plains for the famous Big Five and encounter several species of birds. The expert guide will enlighten you on the animal’s characteristics and their habitat during your game viewing, and will also be available to answer your questions during & after the game drive. Return to the camp for dinner & spend the night in true safari tradition around the Campfire with a drink recollecting your memories of the day’s game viewing.
Day 08 & 09: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Early morning game drives give you the chance to see Africa’s beautiful sunrise and watch the Mara come to life as the animals awaken filling the silence with mesmerising sounds. Afternoon game drives are also conducted daily, one of which will feature a visit to a Maasai Cultural Village. With over 400 species, birdlife in Mara is prolific, and the camp grounds & game drives provide ample opportunities for bird watching.. Along with the bird checklist available in your room, naturalists are always on hand to answer your questions. Talks on Maasai culture are conducted in the Camp grounds by a resident Maasai naturalist. And on alternate evenings a Maasai theme night gives you the chance to buy fascinating, colorful Maasai jewellery & ornaments.
Day 10: Nairobi
Return to Nairobi for a farewell lunch at the Carnivore, Africa’s most popular game-meat restaurant. A day room at the Norfolk Hotel allows you to freshen up & pack before your flight out to the USA.
